Richard Stockdale, landlord of The White Hart Inn at Tetford near Louth recently presented £1,000 to the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Trust.

Richard’s customers sponsored his abstinence, which had helped him to raise the funds.

“It took some doing and there were times when I felt like giving into temptation,” Richard said.

“It was particularly hard when you’re stood there pulling pints every day for a living.

“But I’m so pleased I made it for such a worthy cause as the Air Ambulance.”

Paul Croft, trustee and vice chairman of the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance Trust received Richard’s cheque.

He thanked Richard at a weekly Thursday night live music event at the historic inn in the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds.

Paul said: “On behalf of the Air Ambulance I would like thank Richard and the customers who pledged their support for making this possible.

“It is an amazing amount ot receive and we are really grateful. It will go along way for us to keep running.

“I know it took a lot of determination and sacrifice!”
