Horncastle is ready to party - and in style!
Starting on Friday evening and running through until Sunday, organisers are proclaiming: ‘It’s part time!’
Town mayor Coun Bill Aron, who is co-ordinating the events, said: “It’s an exciting line-up and we have distributed 4,000 programmes through the town listing everything.

Hide Ad“Further copies are available in the library giving full details of the weekend’s events.
“We have commissioned 3,000 bespoke lapel badges –they will be given out at each event - designed by Izabella Rylance of Banovallum School.”
The programme starts on Friday evening with a concert at Stanhope Hall by the award-winning Banovallum Brass Band.
On Saturday morning, the WI will be staging a ‘Yarn Storming’ in and around the town centre.

Hide AdHowever, the highlight promises to be a parade through the town, starting at Horncastle Primary School at 10.30am and finishing at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School.
Once the parade arrives, MP Victoria Atkins will open a Summer Fete which will be held on QEGS’ sports field.
Ms Atkins will be arriving in a 1926 Model T Ford owned by Charles Hill of Horsington.
The fete will feature a host of stalls, activities such as Laser Tag and displays of engines, vintage cars and a fire engine.

Hide AdThere will also be a painting demonstration by David Weston, a face-painter and a bouncy castle. Horncastle Community Choir will entertain the crowds along with a local band.
The programme will continue on Sunday morning with a ‘Big Breakfast’ at Stanhope Hall followed by a special service at St Mary’s.
There will be a fly-past by the BBMF at 2.15pm followed by a children’s street party and a free showing of the film ‘Coronation Britain and The Queen’ at 7.30pm, again at Stanhope Hall.
