Bassetlaw: New car scheme launched for wheelchair users
Bassetlaw Council’s Car Scheme Plus, run in conjunction with Bassetlaw Action Centre and backed by county-wide organisations, will provide vehicles for those unable to use other forms of transport.
The specially-adapted Peugeot Experts have room for three passengers in addition to the driver and wheelchair user, allowing them to be used for family outings or visits to friends.

The official launch on Wednesday saw three cars commissioned to serve Bassetlaw.
Coun Kevin Greaves, chairman of Notts County Council’s transport and highways commtitee, said the new scheme would be a great help to wheelchair users.
“These new vehicles will help give a new lease of life to many people with wheelchairs who until now may have been prevented from getting out and about as much as they’d like.”

“I am confident the new accessible car scheme will improve the way wheelchair users and their families access and enjoy their local town centres.”
