Saturday evening saw Just Jane, the Aviation Heritage Centre’s mighty Lancaster bomber, take her annual night-time taxi run.
Thousands of enthusiasts from all over the country came to see the famous Second World War aeroplane start up her Merlin engines under the floodlights and move off for a taxi run around the airfield.
All the museum’s attractions and facilities were also open for the evening and there was an aerobatic display by radio-controlled model aircraft fitted with LED lighting.
The evening’s entertainment was rounded off in style thanks to a spectacular fireworks display, making for a memorable night.
