Horncastle’s under-threat Red Lion Theatre Company is very much alive and kicking and just to prove it they’ve announced details of their next production.
‘After September’ is a comedy, by Jimmie Chinn, set in the early 60s.
It is based around staff of the Gwendolen Kyte School for Girls who are an odd assortment of social misfits and eccentric types, some of whom have been at the school for over 20 years.
The day before term begins they return to a catalogue of calamities: the ceiling in the East Wing has collapsed, there is no food because last term’s bills have not been paid and the Headmistress’s dog has gone missing. The last straw is the appearance of a government Inspector.
Will the school have to close? Come and find out at the Lion Theatre from May 20-23. Tickets from the Music Shop.
