Woodhall Spa’s Kinema in the Woods is going all Shakespeare as part of a worldwide project promoting the famous Globe Theatre.
‘Globe on Screen’ will feature three incredible new productions from the world’s most famous stage in cinemas across the world.
Shakespeare’s Globe, in partnership with Arts Alliance Media, will bring its 2013 ‘Season of Plenty’ theatre performances to cinema screens.
This year will feature a trio of supernatural Shakespeare classics - The Tempest, Macbeth and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The Kinema will be screening The Tempest on Monday June 9 at 7pm and Thursday June 12 at 2pm, Macbeth on Monday July 14 at 7pm and Thursday July 17 at 2pm and A Midsummer Night’s Dream on Monday August 18 at 7pm.
All three performances have been captured in high definition and will be broadcast in their entirety in pristine digital cinema quality, with full 5.1 surround sound offering audiences the opportunity to experience the world’s most famous stage as if they were there in person.
Artistic Director of Shakespeare’s Globe, Dominic Dromgoole, said: “Thousands of people saw these enchanting sell-out productions at the Globe last year and we are delighted to be taking them to thousands more across the world with the latest cinema releases.”
