The Rotary Club of Horncastle will be ‘coming of age’ when they stage their Senior Citizens Christmas Concert at Banovallum School.

It’s is the 21st year the concert has taken place and Rotary officials are hoping the 2014 event - on November 29 at 2pm - will be the best yet.

A spokesman said: We generally expect between 100 and 150 guests and hopefully it will be the same again this year.

“As well as entertainment, we provide tea, coffee, home made mince pies and cakes which are all prepared by our lady members.”

Rotarians have started to contact local care homes, residential centres and luncheon clubs to make people aware of the concert.

Star billing will be shared between the Julie Deane School of Dancing, the Horncastle Ukulele Group and Whiskey Before Breakfast - a well-known folk group.

The spokesman added: “We may have one or two more attractions, including a light show. There is no need to book. People can turn up on the day.”
