In May 2015 it was decided to raise funds to totally refurbish the organ in St Peter’s Church Woodhall Spa, for the first time since it’s installation in 1893.
Due to the generosity of the population of Woodhall, and those associated with the village, the necessary £12,800 was raised in just eight months.
The work was carried out in January and February of this year, right on schedule.
This month, to lead the celebrations on the completion of the refurbishment, Colin Walsh, Organist Laureate of Lincoln Cathedral, will be giving a recital in the church on Thursday April 14.
Colin has played at all major venues throughout the world, was a soloist in a BBC Radio 3 Live Concert’ and last year received an Honorary Doctorate of Music from The University of Lincoln,
The recital starts at 7pm and no tickets are required, as it is free.
