Travel back in time for clashing swords, shining armour, medieval cookery, wandering minstrels and birds of prey at Henry IV’s castle.
Heritage Lincolnshire and the Friends of Bolingbroke Castle have joined forces for a day of Medieval Mayhem at the Old Bolingbroke site on June 28.
Go along between 12 noon and 5pm to see the Knights of Skirbeck battle and experience their encampment.
Discover medieval cookery with Hengist’s kitchen, have a go at archery and find out all about birds of prey with the help of Rosewood Falconry.
Admission is £3 for adults, under 16s free, and there will be refreshments and toilets on site during the event.
“The moated castle is full of fascinating nooks and crannies so bring the whole family and don’t forget your swords and shields,” said Beverley Gormley, Heritage Lincolnshire’s Cultural Events Officer.
