Horncastle Theatre Company’s will be hoping to strike it lucky with their latest production which is a comedy based around a bowling club.

“Crown Prince”, written by John Godber, features Jack, Ted, Ronnie and Caroline, stalwarts of Beech Hill Bowling Club.

Year after year, Jack tries to fulfil his lifelong ambition - beating Ronnie.

The play - billed as a gently, quirky comedy - shares the character’s ups and downs.

Set initially in the present day and moving forward through 20 years, Crown Prince looks at a world where it is 30c at Christmas, most of Hull is under water and a bungalow on a hill sells for £5m.

The production opens at the Lion Theatre on Tuesday March at 17 and other performances are on March 19, March 20 and March 21.

Tickets from Horncastle Music Shop (01507 526566).
