Nationwide interest is being sparked by a classic motoring event planned for Woodhall Spa in April.
Already, enthusiasts as far away as Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire and Kent are considering copying the Woodhall Spa format their own events in 2016.
Spokesman Malcolm Brown, of Kirkstead, near Woodhall Spa, said the idea was to bring classic car clubs together in a display of all marques in a central location for each county in the UK.
He said: “To our delight, the idea was welcomed with huge enthusiasm by a wide cross section of clubs in Lincolnshire and a generous grant was offered by Woodhall Spa Parish Council to help with finances.”
The ground-breaking Woodhall Spa event takes place on April 26, at Jubilee Park.
The date has been chosen to commemorate 64 motoring pioneers who set out in 1900 on an unheard-of 1,000-mile marathon trial, driving from London to Scotland and back.
Mr Brown said the event was open to anyone with “an interesting vehicle to display”.
He explained: “To make the day more worthwhile, we also plan to make it family-friendly, with lots to do, live music and a range of catering options, as well as stands for specialist suppliers and services.
“And as it’s a Sunday, we’ve even arranged for a short church service before.”
