New season for Horncastle community cinema

The Stanhope Hall Community Cinema kicks off its new season with a double bill next Wednesday, September 19.

The main feature will be The Dambusters (remastered).

This is a superb restoration by the BFI of the 1955 classic film starring Richard Todd and Michael Redgrave.

The supporting film is also a classic, this time from the popular television series ‘Dads Army.

It is episode one of series eight - ‘Ring-Dem-Bells’.

Captain Mannering’s platoon is asked to take part in a propaganda film, but, needless to say, things don’t turn out as expected.

Tickets for the showing are available from Horncastle Music Shop priced £3.50, or pay £4 at the door on the night.

As always, tea and filter coffee, plus warm shortbread biscuits, will be served during the intermission, with tickets for the raffle on sale too.
