Father and son Jim and Kieran Gillespie competed in their final open meet of the summer at Loughborough - and really turned on the style.
Kieran opened up the night with a personal best in the shot putt (9.19m), his first time over nine metres.
He then backed that up with 9.18m.
It was then Jim’s tun in the discus, in which all six of his throws were further than anything he has achieved this season.
Jim finished with 29.63m, just 5cm short of his personal best, with three other throws over 29m.
Kieran ran the 200m, in which he smashed his personal best and won the race in 26.67 secs.
“I really wished I had a video camera with me, as I have never seen him run so well,” Jim said.
This weekend the Wragby duo are competing in the Kettering open meeting.
