Lincolnshire ladies were promoted again last week during the traditional Summer County Cup event. Eighty-five teams competed in the tournament across the country, with approximately 700 players on show.
There are seven male divisions and seven female, and it was not that long ago that Lincs ladies were rock bottom.
However, this is not the case anymore. Last week they were promoted yet again, which means next year they will be competing in Division Three.
This year Lincs were up against Northumberland, North Wales, South Wales, North Scotland and West of Scotland.
The number one doubles pairing for Lincs were sisters Jade and Charlie Windley who were noteworthy for achieving an unbeaten record of 15 wins out of 15 during the week, without dropping a set.
They are the only Lincs pairing to have ever achieved this and the sisters will now join the LTA British tennis 15-club roll of honour, in which the unique players across the country who managed to win every match they played are awarded for this exceptional achievement.
Number two for Lincs were Laura White and Lydia Walker, with the third pairing alternating between Danielle Smith, Faye Button and 14-year-old Vicky Beardsley.
Jade said: “Lincolnshire ladies all showed great pride in playing for their county in this hard fought team event and are hoping for more success next year.
“It was a huge team effort where every rubber was important in order to help Lincolnshire get promoted again.”
Lincs ladies are captained by Lianne Tapson, with Jamie Rigby as the team trainer, both of whom are integral members of the team.
