A pair of players newly adopted to Horncastle Community Members’ Squash Club have raised more than £800 for the club after a squash marathon.
Rob Jaines and Marcus Walmsley were previously players at Kenwick Park but were left without a home when a fire destroyed their courts in Louth.
Horncastle offered them a base for them to host their matches and adopt them as members.
The pair repaid the club in kind with a fundraiser which saw them take part in a 15-hour marathon, playing continuously on court in half hour alternate sessions against all-comers, in both singles and doubles matches.
The marathon event raised £830 for club funds.
