Season's best throws for Jim
Jim Gillespie has set the standard early on with three season's best throws at the weekend.
Competing at Lea Valley in North London, the Wragby resident recorded a best throw of 28.18m in discus, his best throw by almost 5m so far this campaign.
Sunday saw him compete in the shot putt and hammer, adding two more season’s bests of 8.78m in the shot and 26.85m in the hammer.
“These are really good early-season efforts, indicating a good summer of throwing to come,” Gillespie told The News.
