Gipsey Bridge rider Broderick Whitmore-Wilson powered to his eighth podium of the season, promoting him to just one point off the Banovallum Enduro club Expert championship lead.
Battling against a field of 84 competitors at the Ashby Puerorum meeting, the 20-year-old rounded both halves of the three hour long enduro in second place, despite numerous crashes along the way.
Whitmore-Wilson said: “The conditions were quite tricky. One minute the sun was out and the next it was hailing.
“It took a lot of concentration to keep my flow and focus on riding smoothly.
“It didn’t all go to plan. At one point, I found myself upside down in a huge tractor tyre with the bike on top of me. That was different.”
The next round is on the June 15 at Claxby, near Market Rasen.
Before then, Whitmore-Wilson aims to compete in a few other motorcross and enduro meetings. He added: “I’m really keen to keep competing as often as possible. I’m happy with how last weekend went but I want to keep on best form ahead of the next meeting”.
