Horncastle Judo Club’s head coach Trevor Jacklin praised his young members as “amazing” after impressive performances in a top tournament.
The club took six youngsters to Nottingham for the qualifying stages of the British Schools’ Championships, which will be held in Sheffield later this year.
Competitors had to win a medal - just to make certain of qualifying.
That added to the pressure on the youngsters, but they responded in style, securing three golds, a silver and two bronze medals.
Golds went to Miki Edwards, Thomas Dawson and Ethan Steele.
Charlotte Johnstone won the silver and bronze medals went to Joe Lincoln and Ryan Bellamy.
Mr Jacklin said: “The performances were amazing. We showed the rest of the country that we can compete at the highest level.
“All six showed heart and passion - and a will to win. As a coach, you cannot ask for any more that.
“We are so very proud that out youngsters will represent a number of Lincolnshire Schools - and the club - at this prestigious event.”
Mr Jacklin added it was a “great start” to the judo calender, which promises to be busy for seniors and juniors.
He also thanked all supporting coaches and parents for a “fantastic day.”
