Callum Moore celebrated his appointment as boys’ captain at Woodhall Spa Golf Club in the best possible style, by winning a national title.
The talented 13-year-old made the most of home advantage at Woodhall’s Hotchkin course to win the UK Junior Championship for his age group.
Callum, who plays off 12, fired an 88 in the first round to trail the leader by two shots.
However, he tamed the fearsome 18-hole championship course to card a 79 in his second round and take the title by five shots.
Callum also played in the National Golf Centre’s Autumn meeting over the Hotchkin course.
The competition was open to players from all age groups and he finished second with a gross 93.
Meanwhile, the club has confirmed the appointment of other junior section officials for 2014.
The girls’ section captain will be Jasmine Roberts who is one of Woodhall’s top prospects.
The vice captain of the boys’ section is Richard Breislan while the number two in the girls is Billy Jo-Smith, who plays off 1.7 at the age of 14.
