Woodhall Wheelers social cycling club welcomes new riders – be they novice or experienced.

The club was started by a small group of friends in early 2014. The founding members, all keen cyclists, decided to share their passion with the wider community.

Rides are not restricted to the immediate environs of Woodhall Spa and have already included trips to view the Tours of France and Britain, and a resort-to-resort ride. The club and its website are continuing to develop with exciting plans already for 2016.

With the Woodhall Spa club based on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, it enables them a choice of many different types of rides. A six mile ride to Horncastle takes them to the edge of the Wolds where many 15 per cent climbs can be encountered; there are also great choices of flat routes plus several cycle tracks around the area.

The club welcomes riders of all abilities but they point out that reasonable fitness is required, with the capability of riding of 15 miles a minimum requirement, which should enable one to manage a 20 or 25 mile ride. Rides longer than 25 miles include one or more steepish hills so you will need to be pretty fit for those. The club as a rule do not stop for a break on rides less than 50 miles.

Riders must be 16 years of age minimum and if under 18 the club will need a letter from a parent or guardian giving permission to ride.
