Woodhall Spa Croquet Club once again enjoyed a lovely sunny but windy day in the beautiful surroundings of Jubilee Park for their latest competition, the Jubilee Park Challenge Cup.
The competition was organised by committee member Roger Reed. As space was limited on the three half-size lawns, even with double banking, the maximum number of players that could be accommodated was 21.
Seven teams of three players took part from clubs in the local area to play both singles and doubles games of golf croquet against each other. The format of the competition was the best of 13 hoops, with the winners of several games only being decided by playing the final hoop.
The eventual winning team of Mike Bilton, Richard Bilton and Tony Fisher came from Richmond Park in Gainsborough. This is the second time in three weeks that Mike and Richard Bilton, a father and son team, have gone home with the silverware.
Teams entering this year were from Gainsborough CC, Branston CC, Horncastle U3A and Woodhall Spa CC.
