Wragby athlete Kieran Gillespie took part in the the annual Loughborough ‘Stars of the Future’ meeting at the weekend
He opened his account with 22.60m in the discus, which was down on what he has been throwing lately.
However, he responded tremendously in the next event, the 100m hurdles, with a personal best time of 16.6sec.
Kieran’s father Jim said: “Technically it was absolutely spot-on, a great effort.
“Finally, he threw the javelin 26.54 metres which is less than a metre away from, his best, so he was very pleased with that.”
Jim added that it would be nice for himself and Kieran to be competing locally when they take part in the Lincoln Games this coming weekend.
