ANGLING: Pinkett takes narrow win in junior fishing competition

Horncastle Angling Club’s juniors fished for the Fighting Cocks trophy with Oliver Pinkett winning by the narrowest of margins.

Oliver took a top catch of 9lb and was closely followed by James Smith with a total of 8lb 10oz.

Harry Peal came third on 6lb 10oz and Jake Harris fourth with 6lb 8oz.

The Seniors fished for the Mr & Mrs Vinters trophy at Toad Hall with Matthew Hassall storming to victory with a total of 24lb 12oz.

Hassall finished well ahead of Nev Soulby who caught 8lb 14oz and Kev Soulby with 8lb.

Stuart Topliss came fourth with 7lb 8oz.
