Mickey Stones is hoping for a sterner test as his Horncastle Town side prepare to face Spalding United Development just seven days after thrashing them 13-0.

The dominant Wongers had a field day against the Tulips in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League on Saturday.

This weekend Spalding return to The Wong for a Challenge Cup contest.

Stones admits motivating a side to face an opponent they beat so comfortably the previous week isn’t ideal, but he wants his squad to be up for the challenge.

“It’s a difficult one,” he confessed.

“I’m hoping they bring a stronger side. We’ve sort of been limping along defensively, but we seem to be getting everyone back at the same time now.

“We don’t have a game the week after, so I’m hoping we can do well together this weekend and have something to build on.”

Elliot Andrew and Steve Brown will return from injury and suspension, while young Archie Offord will also be available for selection on Saturday (KO 2.30pm).
