FOOTBALL: Woodhall Spa continue charge up the table

Woodhall Spa United made use of one of their games in hand to secure fourth spot in the Boston Taylors Service Garages Division One after a 3-1 win over Rippingale & Folkingham.

Spa have two games in hand over the top three teams and would be within two points of second place Ruskington Rovers if they won their outstanding fixtures.

They return to cup action this weekend to face league and local rivals Coningsby in the Barclays Brokers Willoughby Cup.

In Division Two Mareham United Reserves had the result of the weekend as they beat second place Heckington Millers, picking up their first win of the season.

The Reserves are currently bottom of the league after 14 games but managed a 2-1 win to keep them within touching distance of Fishtoft Reserves.

They will welcome Kirton Town Reserves this weekend.

Coningsby Reserves will also return to action as they play Swineshead Institute Reserves at the Allan Barker Field.

Division Three’s AFC Tetford picked up another big win as they put six past Sutterton Reserves.

Tetford’s 6-2 win keeps them within reach of Boston College at the top of the division.

They face a tough test this weekend though as they welcome FC Hammers who are level on points with them in the table.
