Horncastle Town will be looking to cement their position at the top of the Lincolnshire League tomorrow (Saturday) when they visit Wyberton.
Town took over pole position last Saturday with a comfortable 3-0 win against Cleethorpes but boss Paul Johnson is expecting a much tougher battle tomorrow.
Wyberton are currently third in the table but they are four points behind Town, having played five games more.
Johnson said: “Wyberton were in with a shout of the title themselves a few weeks ago but it looks like they’ve played too many games now.
“However, they are always a difficult side to beat, especially on their own ground. We’ll have to be at our best.”
Johnson - who has seen Town win11 games in a row - should have a full strength squad on duty and faces a difficult selection decision with Nathan Rawdon, Tom Sargeant and Scott Lowman all pushing for places.
The clash marks the start of a vital week for Town who entertain arch title rivals Hykeham Town at The Wong on Wednesday night (7.45pm).
*Town’s reserves don’t have a fixture tomorrow in the Lincoln and District League after last week’s 4-1 set back at home to Fulbeck.
Despite that result, Town are still in a creditable fourth place in the table.
