Poor Mareham United had the unenviable task of travelling to Wyberton after their trouncing by Old Leake seven days earlier and so it proved to be as the floodgates well and truly flew open.

No less than 19 goals found the back of the visitor’s net as their sorry start to the season continued.

For the record, the avalanche came from Nicky Syndercombe 5, Reece Coddington 4, Jonny Butler 3, Chris Rutt 2, Ollie Walker 2, Dean Grainger, Diogo Garcia and Michael Smith.

Although Simon Hall struck two goals for Holbeach Bank it still wasn’t enough to gain any reward in their home game against A.F.C. Tetford.

The visitor’s first game saw them gain an early season boost following their promotion, with a five-goal reply to run out 5-2 winners.

A single Giles Favell goal was enough to give Swineshead ‘A’ their first victory of the season and a 1-0 home win against Coningsby Reserves.

The appointed referee failed to show for the match so a spectator by the name of Mr Thorold kindly offered to take control and did an excellent job in the middle.

Eastern European FC continue their fine start to the season following a 6-2 away win at AFC Tetford Reserves.

Tomas Ragelis hit a hat-trick while Piotr Puchala, Ruslan Dukalskis and Mateusz Stepien completed the scoring.
