FOOTBALL: Mareham beaten at home but Woodhall Spa continue their rise up the table

Mareham United were put to the sword by Boston Taylors Garages Premier Division mid-table rivals Fishtoft 3-0 at the weekend.

The Mareham side couldn’t use the familiar surroundings of Fieldside to their advantage and fell to ninth in the league table on goal difference.

They face a tough task this weekend as they welcome joint-top side Wyberton to Fieldside on Saturday.

Woodhall Spa United continued their good run of form in Division One with their third win in a row over Rippingale & Folkingham.

Despite their journey down past Sleaford, Spa were well up for the contest and ran out as 4-2 winners putting them in eighth spot with three games in hand over their mid-table rivals.

Spa travel to play second in the table Freiston Reserves this weekend.

Mareham United Reserves were knocked out of the Main Ridge Take Away Reserve Cup 1-0 at Fishtoft Reserves and travel to Spalding Harriers for this weekend’s league fixture.

Coningsby Reserves will welcome Leverton to the Allan Barker Field on Saturday.

AFC Tetford took top spot in Division Three with an emphatic 4-0 win over Park United.

The win puts them a point ahead of Boston College in second but the Boston side has two games in hand.

Tetford travel to fourth in the league FC Kirton this weekend.
