FOOTBALL: Horncastle Town wait on injured duo in race for cup final place

Horncastle Town could be without key defenders Chris Johnson and Nathan Rawdon for their Suplementary Cup semi final clash at Sleaford Town Reserves tomorrow (Saturday) ko: 2.30pm.

The duo are both struggling with injuries and the absence of skipper Johnson (hamstring) would be a particular blow to Town’s hopes of booking a place in the final.

Boss Paul Johnson will check on the fitness of both players before finalising his squad for what promises to be a cup cracker.

Town were beaten 4-1 at home by Sleaford earlier in the campaign but bounced back just seven days later to beat the same opponents 2-1 with goals from Olly Johnson (penalty) and Tony Edwards.

Edwards will be a key figure tomorrow as Town look to bounce back from successive defeats in the league against Nettleham and Gainsborough Town.

The Supplementary Cup represents a chance for Town to salvage some silverware from what has proved to be an inconsistent campaign.
