The World Cup may be over for England...but the build-up to a new campaign for Horncastle Town’s players has just started.

More than 40 players turned up to the first pre-season training last Wednesday and manager Paul Johnson put them through their paces again on Saturday.

All training sessions are being held at Oak Meadow with the next scheduled for tonight (Wednesday).

They are catering for the club’s first, second and development team squads. All new players are welcome.

The club’s first pre-season friendly is at Billinghay on July 12 (ko: 2.30pm).

Full details of friendly fixtures are available on the club’s website.

Meanwhile, Town have been drawn at Boston League outfit Wyberton FC in the first round of the Challenge Cup.

The winners will travel to Louth Town Reserves in round two of the competition.

Next season’s Supplementary Cup will be played in a group format.

Town have been drawn in Group B alongside Skegness Town and Nettleham.
