Horncastle Town will be hoping to complete back-to-back wins tomorrow (Saturday) when they visit Nettleham in the Group stages of the Supplementary Cup.
Town produced an impressive performance last Saturday to blitz Billinghay Athletic 8-1 in the opening round of the County Junior Cup.
Michael Harness led the way with a hat trick while Danny Bent (2), Oliver Johnson, Richard Jackson and Stephen Brown were also on target.
They could all be key figures tomorrow as boss Paul Johnson looks for another convincing performance from his squad.
Town have already won at Nettleham in the league this season but Johnson will be wary of the fact the hosts have seen results improve since then.
Town’s only previous game in the Supplementary Cup this term saw them lose 4-1 at home to Skegness Town - a result which makes the ‘Seasiders’ strong favourites to go through to the next stage of the competition.
Meanwhile, Town’s reserves will be looking to keep the pressure on Lincoln League leaders RM Imp when they visit Cherry Willingham tomorrow.
Town’s second string have been in outstanding form recently and beat Retford Town 4-0 in the David Cooper Cup last time out.
They are in second place in the league standings, four points behind RM Imp.
Leading scorer Luke Blondel will be aiming to hit the goal trail again while recent signing Mickey Stone will want to push his claims for a first team recall.
