Horncastle Town boss Paul Johnson will be hoping his side continue their impressive pre-season form when they visit North Somercotes tomorrow (Saturday, 3pm).

After draws in their two opening friendlies, Town hit the goal trial in midweek to beat local rivals AFC Louth 5-1.

Striker Tony Edwards was particularly impressive grabbing a brace as all five goals came in a pleasing second half performance.

Scott Wilson, Luke Blondel and Scott Lowman were also on target but Johnson knows his side will face a much tougher examination tomorrow.

With the start of the Sills and Betteridge season getting ever close, Johnson will be keen to check on the form of several contenders for a starting place.

*Town’s reserves are also in friendly action tomorrow when they entertain FC Hammer at The Wong (2.30pm).
