Horncastle Town will aiming to continue their encouraging pre-season tomorrow (Saturday) when they entertain Spalding United at The Wong tomorrow (3pm).

Manager Paul Johnson’s side go into the clash on the back of an impressive 7-1 win against the Royal Anglians on Monday night.

Town, though, will face a much tougher test against Spalding who play in Division One of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League.

It is one of the last chances for Town’s squad to impress as they open their Sills and Betteridge League campaign at Nettleham on Saturday week.

To date, Town have lost just once in their warm-up campaign, a narrow 3-2 defeat at North Somercotes last week.

Johnson was delighted his side hit the goal trail on Monday with Michael Harness on target four times.

It is, of course, an important time for Town - and not just on the field.

The club is finalising preparations for the opening of their new clubhouse at the end of the month.

*Town’s reserves are scheduled for some match action tonight (Friday) when they visit Boston League outfit Skegness Town Reserves.

The reserves have won their two previous games against Coningsby (1-0) and FC Hammers (3-2).
