Striker Tony Edwards should be back to boost Horncastle Town for their final league game of the season at Boston United Reserves tomorrow (Saturday).
Edwards was unavailable for last Saturday’s clash at Cleethorpe Town Reserves which resulted in a disappointing 3-0 defeat.
To the frustration of manager Paul Johnson, Town dominated long periods of the game but struggled in front of goal.
The return of Edwards should add some firepower, particularly if he can strike up some sort of form alongside the likes of Michael Harness.
Johnson will be hoping his squad can round off their Sills and Betteridge campaign on a high note ahead of their cup final appearance against Gainsborough Town on Saturday May 10 at Lincoln United’s Ashby Road ground.
Howevrer, they face a tough test at Boston who have been pushing for a top four position for most of the campaign.
After a promising start to the campaign, Town have struggled below a mid-table position and that lack of goals had undermined several battling performances, particularly in the second half of the season.
Johnson will check on the fitness of several key players before finalising his squad who will, of course, have the added incentive of a possible cup final appearance at stake.
