Horncastle Town Reserves hosted East Lincs Combinations League side Louth on a sweltering Saturday afternoon on The Wong.

Town should have opened the scoring in the first half, but George Swift’s lobbed effort went over the crossbar.

Louth took the lead 10 minutes later when Horncastle were sloppy in possession coming out from the back.

The heat proved to be a major factor in the second half, with neither side able to control the game.

Andrew Fenn’s side will start their competitive season on September 5 when they visit Crown and Arrows.
