Leading scorer Michael Harness will be aiming to hit the goal trail again tomorrow (Saturday) and keep high-flying Horncastle Town on course for the Sills and Betteridge Lincolnshire League title.

Tow visit CGB Humbertherm just seven days after Harness bagged his 15th goal of the campaign in a 2-0 win against Nettleham 2-0 The Wong.

Town are unbeaten in the league since August, an impressive run stretching back eight games.

Last Saturday’s hard-earned success moved them to within three points of leaders and title favourites Skegness Town.

The next couple of weeks could well have a major influence on the destination of the championship.

Skegness visit third placed Wyberton tomorrow and travel to Horncastle to take on Town at The Wong on January 31.

For the moment, though, Harness and his teammates will be focussed on picking up three points against mid-table Humbertherm.

Manager Paul Johnson - although delighted with the league standings - will be looking for an improvement after something of a stop-start performance against Nettleham.

It’s unlikely Town will make too many changes with Mickey Stones and Tony Edwards other goal threats.

Midfielder Richard Jackson will be another key figure after another in a long line of top notch displays against Nettleham.

*Town’s reserves are in action tomorrow when they entertain Lincoln League rivals Ruston Sports at The Wong (2pm).

Town will be keen to bounce back to winning ways after a surprise 6-0 drubbing at Retford last Saturday.

Despite that result, Town are still fourth in the table although they are eight points adrift of the top three clubs.

*Town’s Development Squad are in action at The Wong on Sunday against Lincoln and District League rivals Broadley.

Several of the club’s junior sides also have games. Full details are on the club’s website.
