Leading scorer Michael Harness should be back to boost Horncastle Town tomorrow (Saturday) as they bid to step up their quest for the Sills and Betteridge League title against Cleethorpes Town AKP at the Wong (3pm).

Harness missed last Saturday’s Supplementary Cup clash against CGB Humbertherm when Town needed extra time goals from Tony Edwards and Andrew Shinn to see off their opponents.

However, Town spokesman Dale Johnson believes the club should be close to full strength tomorrow as they chase an 11th successive win which would boost their title challenge.

Town could regain top spot tomorrow as leaders Skegness Town - just one point ahead of ‘The Wongers’ - are involved in the quarter finals of the Challenge Cup.

A win would see Town move two points clear of their rivals, having played the same number of games (15).

The return of Harness would take some of the pressure for goals of Mickey Stones although boss Paul Johnson has plenty of attacking options in his squad with Tom Sargeant and Gareth Melia hoping to seal a starting place.

Town will be hoping for a bumper crowd as the club’s reserves are also in action tomorrow at The Wong when they entertain Fulbeck in the Lincoln League.

Manager Andrew Fenn will be hoping his side can build on last week’s impressive performance in the cup against RM Imp.
