Woodhall Spa 2nd 105

Boston 107-2

Woodhall Spa won the toss and elected to bat at Boston on Saturday.

Rob Bee (13) was bowled by Scott Elleray, the first of his six-wicket haul, and Adam Barker was his second victim, going for a miserly seven.

Elleray bowled Thomas Dixon (4) lbw for his third wicket. Henry Wilson was Woodhall’s best contributor with the bat, notching up 36 before he was caught by Kieran Evans off a Tom Baxter delivery.

Nick Bishop was caught by Dave Newman for five off a Samuel Elliott ball, whilst Matthew Haslam was stumped by wicket keeper Matthew Hood for 11 off a Baxter bowl.

Elleray was in the field to catch Spa captain Peter Jackson for a duck, the ball delivered in by Baxter once again.

Elleray (6-19) then added the wickets of Sam Cherry (8), Hugo Finley (0) and Darren Hunt (1) to his tally, with Hood catching the latter.

In reply, Boston lost Hood for 11, to a Cherry delivery, and fellow opener Newman was caught for 34 by Hunt off a Dixon ball.

However, Ryan Croom bolstered the Boston score with 42 from 30 balls, including seven fours, and remained unbeaten along with captain Baxter (12).
