Woodhall Spa 2nd 138-1

Home side Bourne 2nd won the toss and elected to bat at Abbey Lawn.

They did not get off to the best of starts with George Hartley (3) run out by Peter Jackson. Joshua Bentley managed 30 more runs than his fellow opener before he was clean bowled by Matthew Haslam.

Alfie Lindsey bowled Sam Evison out for eight, whilst Paul Timby claimed his first wicket when top scorer Robert Bentley (35) was caught by Nick Bishop.

Bourne’s middle order fell cheaply, with Lindsey bowling Jon Howard and skipper Tom Bentley for a duck and four runs respectively. Rory Pears faced just five balls before he was bowled by Haslam.

Lewis Holmes claimed the wicket of Alex Exton (26) when he was caught by Lindsey, whilst Timby brought his tally to three, including bowling Felix Cunningham for six, leaving Harry Bower (4no) at the crease.

As well as claiming three wickets, Timby (97) was the star of the show with the bat, in a one man band of a performance that saw him partner just two team-mates and face 85 balls

Fellow opener Nick Bishop faced 46 but only notched three runs before he was caught by Joshua Bentley off a Cunningham delivery.

Thomas Dixon’s tidy 32no included six fours in 26 balls as Woodhall reached their target in 28 overs.
