Key all rounder Matthew Sargeant could miss Woodhall Spa’s Lincolnshire ECB Premier League game against top of the table Bourne at Jubilee Park tomorrow (Saturday).

The Lincolnshire star has been struggling recently with a back injury and skipper Jack Luffman admits he’s unlikely to face Bourne.

Luffman and his teammates are preparing for what they admit is a ‘massive game’ as they look to beat Bourne and boost their own title hopes.

Luffman said: “It should be a great game. We’re on home turf and we want the win.”

Woodhall currently trail Bourne by 35 points in the race for the title.

While Woodhall’s clash at rock bottom Market Rasen was washed out last Saturday, Bourne beat Billingborough by 83 runs to strengthen their grip on top spot.

Apart from Sargeant, Woodhall will also have to find a replacement for Nick Bishop who is unavailable tomorrow.

Woodhall will come up against some familiar faces - not least in the shape of Conrad Louth who hit 87 in his side’s victory against Billingborough.

Luffman said: “He (Louth) is an ex teammate, a colleague and a friend. I want to see him do well, just not when he’s up against us!”

*Woodhall’s second team will be looking to build on last week’s win against Belton Park when they visit Bourne seconds tomorrow in a South Lincs and Border League Premier Division game.

*There is top action at Jubilee Park on Sunday when Woodhall entertain Scothern in Division One of the Chattertons McKinnells League.

Woodhall will go into the game nursing wounded pride after a shock defeat at bottom club Heighington last Sunday.
