Its time for Horncastle’s Cricketers to dust themselves down after the long dark winter and start preparing for the forthcoming 2014 season.

Once again the club will be fielding teams in the Saturday Lincolnshire League and the Lincoln Sunday League.

Senior nets commence on Thursday February 6 in Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School Sports Hall, from 7.30pm until 9.30pm.

There are eight weekly indoor sessions booked in the hall, before moving outdoors later in the year. The cricket club is always keen to welcome new talent that fancy playing for the team on a Saturday or Sunday.

Club Captain, Nick Paige is optimistically looking forward to the coming season.

He said: “A couple of our more senior players decided to hang up their boots at the end of the last campaign.

“Their talents will undoubtedly be missed but I’m confident that some of younger lads who were knocking on the door of the senior team’s last season will step up to the mark and fill these gaps.

“But equally we would like to see some fresh faces joining the club.”
