Horncastle 158

Alford & District 2nd 159-2

Alford won the toss and elected to field on their home ground.

Horncastle opener Luke Odin did his job and notched up 89 runs before he was bowled by Aaron Wilkinson. Meanwhile, captain Jamie Lewis was bowled for a miserly two by Michael Honman.

Jonathan Clark (12) came to the crease and managed double figures before he was caught by Graham Codd off the bowling of Honman.

Stephen West (5) and Richard Hickling (3) both went lbw, with the pick of the middle order being Michael Ackerman whose tally reached 28 when he was bowled by Bradley McGilloway.

The remainder of the Horncastle batsmen were unable to reach double figures and the team was all out in 38.1 overs.

In reply, Alford openers Matthew Keeling and Honman were out for six and four respectively, both falling to the bowling of Joel Hughes, the latter being caught by Ackerman.

However, Horncastle were unable to displace their replacements Tom Perry (35no) and Neil Calvert (85) as Alford reached their target in 37.4 overs.
