Horncastle Cricket Club will be hoping to make the most of home advantage tomorrow (Saturday) when they entertain rivals Holton-le-Clay in the First Division of the Lincolnshire County League at Coronation Walk.

Skipper Nick Paige and his young squad are desperate to climb the table after last week’s defeat against Bracebridge Heath seconds left them in next-to-bottom place.

Horncastle have won just one of their 10 league games this term and are more than ten points adrift of third-form-bottom club Hartsholme.

However, they could face a tough test against Holton-le-Clay who are comfortably tucked into a mid-table position with five wins from their 12 games this term.

Apart from Piage, Horncastle will again be looking for an inspired performance from all-rounder Harry Smith.

Middle-order man Jim Watters also returned to form last Saturday and his runs could prove important.
