Horncastle Cricket Club play their final game of the season in the First Division of the Lincolnshire County League at home to Outcasts tomorrow (Saturday) at Coronation Walk.

It has been a frustrating campaign for skipper Nick Paige and his young side who go into the clash in next-to-bottom place.

Horncastle had high hopes of victory last Saturday but their game at rock bottom Haxey was washed out by the weather.

Now, Paige will be aiming for a winning send-off tomorrow but Horncastle face a tough test against their third placed opponents.

Haxey, incidentally, have already completed their fixtures while Horncastle trail nearest rivals Owmby by 30 points.

*Horncastle’s in-form Sunday side will be looking to pick up another win this weekend when they host Bassingham in Division three of the Chattertons McKinnells League.

Horncastle will go into the game on a high after last Sunday’s win against local rivals Woodhall Spa eased them into third place in the table behind Old Lincolnians and Sleaford Academy.
