Horncastle Cricket Club will be aiming to celebrate their return to their Coronation Walk ground tomorrow (Saturday) in winning style.

It seems to be an age since Horncastle’s first team staged a home fixture but they will entertain rivals Owmby in Division One of the Readers County League.

Horncastle have slipped to next-to-bottom of the table in recent weeks but have games in hand over several other sides.

Owmby are just one place above Horncastle and both sides will be aiming for what would be only a second league win of the campaign.

All rounder Harry Smith will be a key figure for Horncastle, alongside skipper Nick Paige who is among the most dependable batsman in the competition.

*Horncastle’s Sunday team will also have home advantage this weekend when they take on Sleaford Academy in Division Three of the Chattertons McKinnells League.
