Woodhall Spa Cricket Club will report back for duty next month - but pro Malinga Bandara will be in action at the Twenty20 Masters Champions League.
The club came close to lifting the Lincs ECB Premier title this year, before ending the campaign in second behind Sleaford.
But the Spa men would love to go one better, and will begin their indoor training on January 24.
Coach Paul Timby will oversee the drills, and captain Jack Luffman expects the squad to be thoroughly put through their paces.
He told The News: “We are looking forward to what the coach has in store for us.”
Woodhall have been buoyed by the close season news that all-rounder Bandara will return to Jubilee Park next year.
The former Sri Lankan test and one-day international has spent two seasons with the club so far,.
He claimed both of this year’s batting and bowling awards at the club’s presentation evening.
However, he will not be reporting back immediately as he has just been bought at the auction for the inaugural Twenty20 Masters Champions League to be held in the United Arab Emirates during January and February.
The competition will see six teams - named after star signs - take part in a round robin style competition at grounds in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
All the teams are made up of retired international superstars.
Malinga, bought for $35,000, will play for Team Virgo alongside the likes of Brett Lee, Jonty Rhodes, Graeme Smith and Owais Shah.
