Drains: Money needs to be spent to improve ‘antiquated’ system

When will something be done about the state of the drains in Horncastle?

During the recent heavy rain, I’m told water entered a couple of properties in the West Street area.

The cause was the drains on West Street.

I’m sure everyone welcomes the Flood Alleviation Scheme, but is the River Bain really the main threat to the town when it comes to flooding?

I think not.

Until money is spent on improving the antiquated drainage system (I’m told some of it hasn’t been touched since Victoria times) then properties are going to be at risk.
