You wait all year for a festival and then two...

Poor weather kept the crowds down at Horncastle’s Summer Festival on Sunday and organisers have admitted they might have to look at re-vamping the event next year.

Sandra Campbell-Wardman, vice-chairman of the Town’s Festival Committee, said: “The weather didn’t help and it is the one thing we can’t control.

“The crowds did pick up and people did enjoy themselves but we’d struggled to attract stall holders. There are so many other things going on in the area.

“It takes a lot of effort organising something like this. It’s not as popular as it was. Perhaps we need a revamp - some new ideas.”
