Woodhall Spa Flower Club gives £2,000 boost to Marie Curie

The Woodhall Spa and District Flower Club has presented the Lincolnshire branch of Marie Curie Cancer Care with a boost of £2,000.

The charity was the club’s chosen cause to raise money for throughout the year.

Funds have been raised in two ways - one through their regular plant sale and finally from receiving donations from weddings and events where the team provide their time and effort for free.

The flower club has been well supported over many years by two stalwart members - Sue Walter and Pauline Fasham. The duo helped to raise £1,000 alone on the plant stall.

The remaining £1,000 was raised thanks to local brides in the area putting their trust in the services of the flower clubs for their weddings with flowers in the churches and marquees they have on their special day.

The sum was presented to a representative from the local Marie Curie branch, Gary Burr, by the chairman of the Woodhall Spa and District Flower Club Rosemary Isaac and she is pictured alongside the club’s president Sue Walters.
