The women’s section of Coningsby and Tattershall Royal British Legion welcomed a number of visitors to its November meeting.

Speaker for the evening was Ros Rickard, who gave an excellent demonstration of paperback folding.

Everyone followed her instructions, ending with a paper hedgehog, including button eyes.

Thanks were given to standard bearer Pat Bennett for representing them at the remembrance service at Cranwell and to everyone for their hard work collecting for the Poppy Appeal.

This included a table top sale and coffee morning, which raised funds in excess of £400.

Thanks were also given to Coningsby Co-op for allowing poppy sellers to use its store.

A Christmas lunch has been booked at the Packet Inn for December 1 and a bingo night has been arranged in Coningsby Community Hall for Friday, November 27, with eyes down at 7pm.

The next meeting at the Lion’s Den is on Tuesday, February 2, at 7pm.
